WOO HOO, don’t we all love new stuff
It was my pleasure to recently attend a 4-day photography convention. I watched a looot of speaker presentations from many industry leaders and mentors (and picked up a few new tips and techniques, as well). There was also a huge theater filled with vendors with hundreds of products that are either brand new this year or that I hadn’t been aware of, from editing software to new cameras or features, and from new marketing items to new print products that photographer can offer their clients. It was like Christmas time, only for us photographers (who are really just like big kids, when it comes to the “latest and greatest”).
My favorite
While I did find a lot of interesting new products, many of them were what I consider “gimicky” and just not up to the standards of what I would like to offer in my studio. However, there was one particular product that I just instantly fell absolutely head over heels in love with…the “Contoured Acrylic” wall art. I had to order one, immediately. I chose a dearly loved image from a recent newborn session, to place the order and give it a try. This eye-catching statement piece, offers an option beyond the traditional squares and rectangles in wall art display. The vintage frame shape offers a classy and elegant design that is perfect for all types of portraiture, from newborn and maternity child and family. It features a very sturdy 1/16” acrylic thickness with finished backing for added durability, rounded edges styling and comes ready to display. It’s suitable for both horizontal and vertical composition and “floats” almost 2” off the wall, for a dramatic 3D appearance.
Unboxing
I have to admit, it was really hard to wait. First there was a bit of a delay in production, due to the overwhelming response from conference attendees. They did finally get it shipped but the country got slammed with a severe and wide-spread winter storm that caused a delay of several more days. Then there was Sunday and the President’s Day holiday Monday, where there was no delivery service at all. Ugh, by the time it finally arrived, I was pretty much chomping at the bit and all but ripped it out of my poor mailman’s hands to see if it was everything I hoped it would be.
I actually did an unboxing video, HERE, (don’t judge me too harshly on video quality, as I was by myself and just used my cell phone, mostly because I was too lazy to set up appropriately and too excited to finally see it) to allow you to experience it as I did. I was not disappointed! After seeing, feeling it and hanging it on my wall for display, I can tell you that I am absolutely ecstatic to offer this to my clients, going forward. The photo below is of the actual product, hanging on the wall of my Reveal and Ordering area and believe me when I tell you, it does not do justice to how awesome this product really is.
