The Little Miracle

Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing two true miracles in my studio. I had a little bit of info from the contact form, that the little baby girl had been born prematurely, but the rest of the story really touched my heart.

The little one’s beautiful momma was doing just fine with this, her first pregnancy. Then, out of nowhere, one day she woke up with a lot of swelling and felt something was wrong. She had been on a waiting list for weeks and weeks for a special ultrasound and just on a whim, decided to call one more time. Yes, they had an opening. It had just opened up mere moments before her call. Miracle number one.

The ultrasound showed a potential problem. So, they started to get the care needed when they experienced another blow. The problem had compounded and both mother and baby were in danger. The decision was made to induce early. Very, very early. It saved this young mother’s life and began the fight for the life of this precious baby girl.

Well, after months in NICU, she was well enough to come home. When I got to capture her first formal portraits, she had just hit the 6# mark and was doing fine. Both of them were doing fine, with no lasting effects at all…miracles two and three. So, it was with even greater pleasure than usual, I got to photograph this lovely family and their gorgeous little red-haired angel.
